In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada, Polygroup is voluntarily recalling certain above-ground pool models 48” and taller. The recall affects Polygroup Round and Oval Frame Pools that are 48 inches or taller and have compression straps that surround the outside of the pool legs. Affected products were sold from 2006 through June 2025 sold under the following brand names: Summer Waves, Summer Escapes, Funsicle, Sand n Sun, and Blue Wave.
Polygroup sold at least 912,000 above-ground pools in the United States and Canada between 2006 and June 2025.

The products were sold at stores nationwide, including Walmart, Lowe’s, Kmart, Toys “R” Us, Sam’s Club, The Home Depot, Big Lots, and Costco (among others). They were also sold on Polygroup’s website and other internet platforms, including Amazon, Wayfair.com, Walmart.com, and the Funsicle website.
If you look on the side of your pool, there’s a large box with Customer Service contact details. Within that box is a small box labeled “Polygroup,” followed by several lines of letters and numbers above and below it. If you look above the word Polygroup, you will see numbers at the end of the line (before the letters), such as 1648, 1852, or 1536. Those refer to the diameter and height. The first two numbers are the diameter of the pool in feet, and the second two numbers are the height in inches. If the second set of 2 digits is 48 or more, then your pool is subject to this recall. Refer to the following example image:
Not all Polygroup pools are covered by the recall. Polygroup’s rectangular frame pools do not use compression straps and are therefore not within the scope of the recall. Polygroup pools that are below 48 inches tall are also not covered by the recall.

We want to send you a free repair kit for your above-ground pool. This repair kit consists of a rope that attaches to each of the vertical support poles at the ground level and wraps around the pool. The rope will maintain the structural integrity of the pool (a function previously served by the compression strap). This repair kit is designed to be easy to install.
While you wait for your repair kit, ensure that children cannot access the pool unattended. Alternatively, consider draining the pool until the repair kit can be installed.
Additionally, you should always take precautions set out in CPSC’s Pool Safely guidelines at www.PoolSafely.gov to ensure that children cannot access the pool without parental supervision. This includes removing pool ladders and any other objects near the pool, such as patio furniture. Also, ensure all required and recommended barriers are closed and locked.

Repair kits will be shipped via FedEx. Typically, you can expect to receive your kit within 5–10 business days from the date of confirmation.
